NextIO Gets Another $15m

The money is coming from previous investors including Adams Capital Management, Crescendo Ventures and VentureTech Alliance

NextIO has picked up a $15 million D round.

NextIO's the six-year-old Texas outfit with the rack-optimized I/O virtualization solutions based on high-performance PCI Express (PCIe) switching technology and the money is supposed to accelerate the delivery of its second-generation Express Connect widgetry.

That gadgetry is supposed to completely virtualize all PCIe I/O so any blade or rack server can access any PCIe I/O device as part of a virtual pool of resources.

The technology, which helps banks of servers operate as a single machine, also speeds server rollout and reduces maintenance.

The money is coming from previous investors including Adams Capital Management, Crescendo Ventures and VentureTech Alliance, as well as other strategic investors.

NextIO has raised about $55 million since it was founded.
