LITTLETON, MA and KAWASAKI, JAPAN -- (Marketwire) -- 06/17/09 -- Marathon Technologies announced today that its everRun VM software was named a "Best of Show" winner at Interop Tokyo. everRun VM was selected by a jury of influential IT professionals after a rigorous examination. The judges awarded everRun VM the Grand Prize Award Winner in the Server and Storage Solution category primarily for three reasons:
-- The recognition of the importance of fault-tolerant, high availability
in virtual environments
-- everRun VM's unique ability to meet customers' needs
-- A combination of functionality that exceeded anything else reviewed by
the judges
The total number of entries for the Interop Tokyo show awards exceeded 300 products and services. In the Server and Storage Solution category, Marathon was selected over four other finalists including Stratus Technologies and Isilon Systems.
A new version of everRun VM with the Lockstep Option was generally available in early May. This new software is designed to benefit customers in the following ways:
-- Organizations can run their most essential business critical -- and
now mission critical applications -- on virtual servers
-- Organizations can optimize their availability investment for their
virtualized environment by selecting proper availability level for each
application
-- With everRun VM and Citrix® XenServer, virtualization and
availability can be deployed for a lot less money and managed with
considerably less IT resources
-- With everRun VM and Citrix Essentials for XenServer, midmarket
companies have a robust, reliable virtualization platform alternative
