Gladinet Cloud Desktop Integrates with EMC Atmos, Google Docs, Amazon S3 and More

Value-added services are just a part of what's offered by this unique, ubiquitous cloud-storage client

LAKE WORTH, Fla., July 15 /PRNewswire/ -- The Web has evolved far beyond browser capabilities, limiting the usability and practicality of cloud storage and cloud services. In response, Gladinet (http://www.gladinet.com/index.htm), a company with a goal to transform the Internet into a virtual PC by integrating cloud services directly onto a PC desktop, has surfaced as today's first ubiquitous cloud storage client.

Gladinet is unique in its field due to its open-platform integration with EMC Atmos, Google Docs, Amazon S3 and a host of other providers. Gladinet's flagship product is Cloud Desktop, which provides an Internet-based virtual disk drive. In addition to supporting the vast array of cloud-storage providers, Cloud Desktop also allows for cross-storage backup among such providers and using these providers as a redundant array of cloud storage.

"Previously, each cloud storage provider has required a different interface tailored to that particular brand, and this has been highly inconvenient for users," says Jerry Huang, co-owner of Gladinet. "Gladinet's Cloud Desktop is truly revolutionary because, as a ubiquitous cloud storage client, it provides the same features and interface to many cloud storage providers. Plus, the virtual drives, which are then located on your desktop, allow for backups to a redundant array of cloud storage, eliminating the need to rely upon one provider for backup."

Gladinet Cloud Desktop has been the first provider of desktop integration with EMC Atmos and EMC Atmos Online; however, its interface also serves Amazon S3, Google Docs, Google Picasa, Box.net, WebDav providers, FTP providers and others. Gladinet Cloud Desktop has quickly received notable recognition as a powerful tool among reputable industry resources and media, including EMC's Cloud Infrastructure Group, EMC's Employee Blog and IDC LINK.

In a June 24, 2009 article ("Storage Virtualization on Your Netbook, Anyone?"), IDC LINK author Benjamin Woo highlighted Gladinet Cloud Desktop and EMC blogger Mark Twomey's impressive take on this new technology's ability to integrate with such an array of providers and virtualize so many cloud offerings under a single drive letter. More of Twomey's comments can be found at Storagezilla (http://storagezilla.typepad.com/storagezilla/2009/06/atmos-and-gladinet.html).

"Such esteemed recognition is exciting, and we're honored by the feedback and chatter we're hearing in regard to Gladinet Cloud Desktop," Huang says. "As a ubiquitous cloud storage client, this technology is an innate problem-solver that also alleviates the common concerns of traditional cloud storage use. People worry about what will happen with their files should a provider go out of business and disappear, or if they set unreasonable user requirements that prohibit access to the files dedicated on that particular provider's server. Gladinet Cloud Desktop addresses these issues through its practical, user-friendly solution."

As a breakthrough technology, Gladinet continues to evolve and welcomes inquiries regarding partnerships and investors. To inquire about such opportunities, contact [email protected]. Digital Transformation is much more than a buzzword. The radical shift to digital mechanisms for almost every process is evident across all industries and verticals. This is often especially true in financial services, where the legacy environment is many times unable to keep up with the rapidly shifting demands of the consumer. IoT is rapidly becoming mainstream as more and more investments are made into the platforms and technology. As this movement continues to expand and gain momentum it creates a massive wall of noise that can be difficult to sift through. Unfortunately, this inevitably makes IoT less approachable for people to get started with and can hamper efforts to integrate this key technology into your own portfolio. There are so many connected products already in place today with many hundreds more on the h...
The standardization of container runtimes and images has sparked the creation of an almost overwhelming number of new open source projects that build on and otherwise work with these specifications. Of course, there's Kubernetes, which orchestrates and manages collections of containers. It was one of the first and best-known examples of projects that make containers truly useful for production use. However, more recently, the container ecosystem has truly exploded.
