Industry Expert Brian Madden Collaborates with Neocleus on Client Virtualization White Paper

Neocleus, the leader in client virtualization, today announced the availability of a whitepaper called “Saving money and increasing security of desktops: forget ‘VDI’” written by industry expert Brian Madden about the benefits of client virtualization. The paper compares different virtualization approaches for client computing and outlines the advantages of each. A corresponding webcast about the same topic is also available. Both the webcast and white paper can be downloaded via the Tech Target website. You can link to all Neocleus assets with TechTarget at the following address: http://www.bitpipe.com/data/search?site=bpmd&qp=site_abbrev:bpmd&qg=VENDOR&cp=bpres&cr=bpres&st=1&qt=Neocleus&Search2.x=0&Search2.y=0

In the paper Brian confirms that “while VDI makes sense in certain use cases, it’s never going to be a broadly adopted technology for a majority of desktop users.” Instead, Brian believes that “client hypervisors will play a bigger role than VDI in the world of desktop virtualization.”

The paper also discusses why client virtualization is one of the most promising technology investments and how its benefits reap real cost savings for IT managers. Additionally, the paper outlines how Type 1 based virtualization brings a new wave of client computing, yielding dramatic savings in total-cost-of-ownership (TCO) of corporate-owned desktops and laptops. Readers will learn about distinct use cases for how client virtualization addresses escalating infrastructure costs by improving IT control, security and management. The paper talks about how the current set of processes and technologies used to secure and manage desktops and laptops and compares them with the newer Type 1 based client virtualization methods.

According to Bill Corrigan, Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer for Neocleus, “Neocleus embarked on this paper with Brian to educate the market about the incremental value of client virtualization. Client virtualization has emerged as a game-changing agent for client computing, and a technology that offers the best possible balance for IT control, manageability and security. Traditional server based approaches do not sufficiently address the ever-increasing support and management costs associated with desktops and laptops used within organizations today. When using a client based bare metal, Type 1 hypervisor approach to client virtualization, companies are equipped to address the distinct use cases and specific client computing challenges that most directly impact their businesses.“

The paper can also be downloaded from the Neocleus website at www.neocleus.com.

About Neocleus

Neocleus delivers an innovative client virtualization platform to reduce costs, improve security and streamline laptop and desktop management. The Neocleus platform, based on its second-generation client hypervisor, isolates and fully secures multiple instances of an operating system on a single PC while allowing each instance to be centrally managed. Neocleus also allows a single desktop or laptop to function as if it were two completely separate machines running on two separate networks – one secure and one open or both secure. Organizations deploy Neocleus’ solutions to satisfy diverse use cases including locking down the corporate operating system image while simultaneously giving end users an open, user-friendly environment. With Neocleus, organizations realize significant reductions in the total-cost-of-ownership over the company’s client computing infrastructure.
