Independent Software Vendors Adopt Oracle Fusion Middleware

The benefits of industry standards

Increasingly, enterprises are realizing the benefits that industry standards and SOA bring to their technology infrastructure and business operations, enabling them to fuse their various business applications and systems, old and new. Industry-leading solution providers cite Oracle's rapid market and customer adoption, support for standards, best-in-class middleware functionality and breadth of middleware products - from application development and integration to security, deployment and Web service monitoring -- as key factors in adopting Oracle Fusion Middleware products. Oracle's ability to deliver an open, standards-based technology makes it easier for partners to work with their customers' existing investments and lay the foundation for an SOA.

This family of Oracle products presents a significant opportunity for partners, ISVs and SIs. Oracle Fusion Middleware will help ISVs spend less time building integration points between various technologies and applications and more time building competitive, vertical differentiators. SIs spend less time integrating systems and more time solving customers' business problems, developing repeatable solutions that can be leveraged across their client-base. Customers also benefit significantly as standards-based offerings can be more easily integrated into an existing IT environment, minimizing costly integration obstacles and accelerating time-to-value for new initiatives.

Partners Propel Industry Solutions with Oracle

Recent additions to the company's partner programs bring the total number of Packaged Application and Infrastructure Software vendors using Oracle Fusion Middleware to more than 4,750. Partners are leveraging Oracle Fusion Middleware to extend the value of existing systems and simplify adoption of SOAs.

Some of the key ISVs supporting Oracle Fusion Middleware include: 360Commerce, Agile Software Corporation, Applied Biosystems, AttachmateWRQ, Avega Health Systems, BMC, Business Objects, Cambridge Technology Enterprise, Cerner, Clear2Pay, Cognos, Courion, EMC (for the EMC Documentum enterprise content management platform), Enterra Solutions, Entrust Inc., EnvironMax Inc., EPL, Fidelity, FileNet Corp., Forum Systems, GT Software, Hyperion, ILOG, ImageWare Systems Inc., InsurSys, Interwoven, iWay Software, Jesta I.S., M-Tech Information Technology, Marc Global, Mercury, nCipher, NEON Systems, Netmanage Inc., NextLinx Corporation, OctetString Inc., Passlogix, Inc., Pervasive Software Inc., Physmark, ProActivity Inc., Proforma Corp., Protocom Development Systems, Quest Software, Radiant Logic, RSA Security, SOA Software, SunGard SCT, SYNORAN, Systinet, Telelogic AB, Tomax, Triversity and Waters Corp.

The Oracle Fusion Middleware Family

The recently announced Oracle Fusion Middleware brand consolidates the company's industry-leading middleware offerings: Oracle Application Server 10g, related Oracle Application Server products and options, Oracle Data Hubs and Oracle Collaboration Suite into one family of infrastructure software. The brand encompasses a range of proven middleware products that help organizations achieve greater agility, make better-informed business decisions and more easily integrate data and processes across disparate IT systems -- including technologies from Oracle and other vendors. The products enhance IT and partner development productivity with a wide range of development tools for technologies from Java and PHP to Web services orchestration and the BPEL (Business Process Execution Language) standard. The Internet of Things will challenge the status quo of how IT and development organizations operate. Or will it? Certainly the fog layer of IoT requires special insights about data ontology, security and transactional integrity. But the developmental challenges are the same: People, Process and Platform and how we integrate our thinking to solve complicated problems. In his session at 19th Cloud Expo, Craig Sproule, CEO of Metavine, demonstrated how to move beyond today's coding paradigm and sh...
What are the new priorities for the connected business? First: businesses need to think differently about the types of connections they will need to make – these span well beyond the traditional app to app into more modern forms of integration including SaaS integrations, mobile integrations, APIs, device integration and Big Data integration. It’s important these are unified together vs. doing them all piecemeal. Second, these types of connections need to be simple to design, adapt and configure...
Cell networks have the advantage of long-range communications, reaching an estimated 90% of the world. But cell networks such as 2G, 3G and LTE consume lots of power and were designed for connecting people. They are not optimized for low- or battery-powered devices or for IoT applications with infrequently transmitted data. Cell IoT modules that support narrow-band IoT and 4G cell networks will enable cell connectivity, device management, and app enablement for low-power wide-area network IoT. B...
