Vertafore Moving IT Infrastructure to Savvis Hosting Facility in Dallas Area

State-of-the-art data center offers increased capacity to better serve customers and manage Software-as-a-Service offerings

BOTHELL, Wash., Sept. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Vertafore (http://www.vertafore.com), a leading provider of software and services to the insurance industry, announced today that it plans to move its largest data center to Savvis' state-of-the-art hosting facility in Fort Worth, Texas.

Vertafore will continue to manage its SaaS-based products internally, while Savvis -- a global leader of managed and outsourced IT services -- will operate Vertafore's scale-related IT infrastructure. Vertafore's products will continue to run on company equipment managed by Vertafore employees.

"The new data center will give our customers faster results and greater peace of mind," said

Darryl Lemecha, Vertafore CIO. "Savvis' facility allows us to better accommodate the rapid growth of our SaaS offerings, and our customers will benefit both from Savvis' dedication to data center infrastructure and from continued product innovation from Vertafore. This move will allow us to focus on what we do best: creating, delivering and supporting our suite of industry-leading products."

By co-locating its hosting services in the Savvis facility, Vertafore will significantly increase its network performance through greater bandwidth and connectivity. Additionally, the facility is highly secure and redundant, offering 24x7 surveillance and generators to ensure uninterrupted availability of Vertafore's hosted solutions.

"Savvis' experience in providing a full range of hosting and SaaS services makes us uniquely qualified to support Vertafore as its needs grow and change," said Bryan Doerr, chief technology officer, Savvis. "We are excited to support such a fast-growing company and help it benefit from new services that will help transform its business."

The move, which should be completed by May 2010, will be seamless due to the use of remote data replication and duplicate hardware. Customers will not experience any disruption to their service during the transition.

Savvis operates 28 data centers globally, encompassing more than 1.4 million square feet of raised floor space designed to support enterprise IT operations. In addition, Savvis was recently positioned as a leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Web Hosting and Cloud Infrastructure (on Demand), 2009, and can be accessed at www.savvis.net/magicquadrantleader.

Digital Transformation is much more than a buzzword. The radical shift to digital mechanisms for almost every process is evident across all industries and verticals. This is often especially true in financial services, where the legacy environment is many times unable to keep up with the rapidly shifting demands of the consumer. The constant pressure to provide complete, omnichannel delivery of customer-facing solutions to meet both regulatory and customer demands is putting enormous pressure on...
IoT is rapidly becoming mainstream as more and more investments are made into the platforms and technology. As this movement continues to expand and gain momentum it creates a massive wall of noise that can be difficult to sift through. Unfortunately, this inevitably makes IoT less approachable for people to get started with and can hamper efforts to integrate this key technology into your own portfolio. There are so many connected products already in place today with many hundreds more on the h...
The standardization of container runtimes and images has sparked the creation of an almost overwhelming number of new open source projects that build on and otherwise work with these specifications. Of course, there's Kubernetes, which orchestrates and manages collections of containers. It was one of the first and best-known examples of projects that make containers truly useful for production use. However, more recently, the container ecosystem has truly exploded. A service mesh like Istio addr...

To Really Work for Enterprises, MultiCloud Adoption Requires Far Better and Inclusive Cloud Monitoring and Cost Management … But How? Overwhelmingly, even as enterprises have adopted cloud computing and are expanding to multi-cloud computing, IT leaders remain concerned about how to monitor, manage and control costs across hybrid and multi-cloud deployments.
