Enterasys Networks Goes Live With Steelwedge Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP)

PLEASANTON, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 10/20/09 -- Steelwedge Software, the leader in Cloud-based Sales and Operations Planning solutions (S&OP), announced today that Enterasys Networks has migrated to the Steelwedge Cloud-based Sales and Operations Platform to support its collaborative S&OP process. The migration eliminates the need for Enterasys internal IT support and significantly reduces the total cost of ownership (TCO).

Enterasys Networks designs routers and switches for use in corporate networks. It also provides network management and security software and access points. The company's service offerings include network installation, maintenance, support, and outsourcing. Enterasys Networks selected Steelwedge to reduce inventory, ensure on-time deliveries and increase profitability.

The Steelwedge solution enables Enterasys Networks to drive scenario-based supply-demand analysis and incorporates feedback from its finance, operations and sales organizations as well as from customers, distributors, and contract manufacturers. The Steelwedge solution leverages the highly scalable, cloud-based Steelwedge Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) platform.

Enterasys Networks executives and planners use the Steelwedge solution to capture and forecast unit demand, analyze the impact of alternate pricing, measure actual operational performance against plan. Executive management will use Steelwedge to review, approve and adjust forecasts and to align them with sales, supplier and operational plans.

"Although we use SAP as our ERP system, we needed a highly scalable and robust planning solution to manage our complex business," said Chris Allan, Director of Sales and Operations Planning at Enterasys Networks. "Steelwedge has not only fit our requirements perfectly but also delivered a tremendous amount of value in short-amount of time with minimal impact on our IT organization. The Steelwedge S&OP solution is rock solid and their organization has offered us an unrivaled level of expertise and customer service. To-date, we estimate we have reduced inventory by over twenty-five percent as a result of Steelwedge. This reduction in inventory frees up millions of dollars of working capital."

"Enterasys Networks's adoption of the Steelwedge Cloud-Based sales and operations planning solution is yet another demonstration of how our unique Enterprise-Enabled-Excel(TM) interface and Cloud-based service offering ensures a rapid and high ROI," said Steelwedge CEO, Glen Margolis. "Enterasys Networks joins an elite group of world-class organizations which have adopted the Steelwedge solution."

Steelwedge Software, Inc. is the leading provider of Cloud-based Sales and Operations Planning solutions that dramatically improve operational performance. Customers include Sara Lee, General Electric, Hewlett Packard and Honeywell.

And as digital natives make up more and more of the modern workforce, the appetite for user-friendly, cloud-based services grows. The center of work is shifting to the user and to the cloud.
