The Planet, the global leader in IT hosting, today announced that Rob Walters, director of product management, will participate in a panel discussion at the Cloud Computing Conference & Expo in Santa Clara, Calif. The panel—titled “Enterprise-Level Cloud Computing: Far-Off Dream or Present Reality?”—will discuss the new economic models enabled by cloud computing, and whether service operators should consider moving to the cloud. The session is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 3, at 7:25 p.m. PDT.

“‘The cloud’ is a buzzworthy topic today, but there’s also confusion in the marketplace as to its capabilities and viability as a platform for data,” said Walters. “Along with other industry leaders, we’ll shed light on its utility, discuss where this new technology is headed, and its potential to transform the IT industry.”
Joining Walters on the panel is Willie M. Tejada of Akamai, Terry Woloszyn of PerspecSys, Barry X. Lynn of 3Tera, Adam Blum of Rhomobile and Greg O’Connor of AppZero.
The Planet is a bronze sponsor of the conference, and will showcase its services and solutions at the conference expo hall in booth 121. The company will also hold a drawing for an Acer Aspire One netbook at its booth.
