The new IBM blade server and storage virtualization platform, which replaces the previously installed HP system, will help Iskon to remove system bottlenecks, streamline internal processes and help ensure uninterrupted service for customers. The system will also have the capacity to support Iskon's business growth, enabling it to introduce new services securely, quickly and in-line with increases in available bandwidth.
"We strive to offer high-quality, reliable and secure services to our
customers, while at the same time ensuring internal efficiencies for our
company," said
With high demand for its hosted and next generation services, Iskon Internet needed a reliable, flexible and robust platform for its data backup and archive platform. The company turned to IBM to help overhaul its infrastructure by deploying energy-efficient IBM blade servers in a BladeCenter chassis. Iskon also selected an IBM Storage System DS5300 and San Volume Controller for the storage, back-up and archiving of data.
"Our clients recognise that in today's business environment, technology
can provide a valuable competitive edge and help them to differentiate," said
The deal was signed in April this year and the implementation of the new system was completed last month.
