CUPERTINO, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 12/02/09 -- ParaScale, Inc., a leader in developing cloud storage software solutions, announced today that the company's VP of Marketing Jack Norris will speak to attendees of CloudFutures, Software Vendors SaaS Migration Conference about private cloud storage, on Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in San Jose, CA.

Mr. Norris's session titled "Software or Service: Your Own Private Cloud" will review how to set up a private cloud to ensure the decisions made are based on the long-term strategy of the enterprise, and not on the software product. Attendees will learn why placing software on a third party server will yield advantages such as cost reduction and platform management; how to assess the investment needed to get a cloud off the ground; and the expected return.
"Cloud storage is a natural extension of SaaS, applications like SalesForce delivered over the web as a service, and cloud computing, CPU cycles available for rent over the web," said Norris. "The concept is extremely powerful as commodity or repurposed hardware is stitched together to provide a massive pool of compute power. Enterprises can start small with a few servers that are highly scalable to PBs, but managed like a single appliance."
