Despite the times, Wells Fargo affiliate Norwest Venture Partners has pulled together a $1.2 billion investment fund, its largest ever. Its last fund, which closed in ’06, was only $650 million. Norwest backed Rackspace Hosting, one of the rare IPOs last year. It’s apparently looking at opportunities in China and India.
