Interoute renews international security standard for its managed hosting service
London, UK - 8 December 2009 - Interoute, owner operator of Europe's most advanced next-generation network, today announced that it has renewed ISO 27001 certification for its Data Centres in Amsterdam, Berlin, Geneva, and Munich. The internationally recognised security standard provides organisations with a guarantee that Interoute manages a comprehensive information security system to protect data against security threats and vulnerabilities.
With 84 per cent of organisations suffering from computer viruses or malware network intrusions and 28 per cent having experienced loss of sensitive data held by a third party, it is imperative that businesses seek assurances of information security. Interoute's managed hosting offers a comprehensive security management system to protect data against these risks, ensuring security controls are continuously in place to protect data, from our network infrastructure in the ground to our managed hosting solutions in the cloud.
"Security of data is an absolute requirement for enterprises looking to host their data offsite," said Joe Stevens, Operations Security Director at Interoute. "Our ISO 27001 certification, aligned with our security solutions portfolio, provides complete solutions to enterprises to manage their data security risks. We own and operate the most extensive network in Europe, and understand how to protect data. Our security controls and managed security solutions provide a full solution to the security threats faced by enterprises today."
Interoute has embedded the ISO 27001 security management controls into its operations, ensuring that the managed hosting services in its Data Centres fulfil the security requirements of its customers. Interoute offers a full portfolio of security solutions to enterprises, providing dedicated secure transmission, IP VPN, managed hosting, distributed denial of service (DDoS) protection and Intrusion Protection Services (IPS) solutions.
As security threats have evolved and advanced, Interoute has provided security solutions to protect enterprises. Interoute provides valuable insight into malicious activity on the internet through the Interoute Internet Barometer. The security barometer collects data from 22 high performance sensors built into the core of the European Internet, logging the source, destination and type of malicious activity, to provide organisations with valuable insight to help them defend against attacks on their network.
