GREENBELT, MD -- (Marketwire) -- 12/10/09 -- Presidio Networked Solutions, the leading provider of professional and managed services for the full lifecycle of advanced IT infrastructure solutions, and leading solution provider for advanced Data Center technologies, today announced it has joined the Vblock partner ecosystem, a community of partners that are qualified to augment, resell, and deliver Vblock(TM) Infrastructure Packages. These packages are an element of the recently announced Virtual Computing Environment coalition formed by Cisco and EMC, together with VMware. Now Presidio can help customers accelerate their plans to implement a private cloud infrastructure based on industry-leading technology and take advantage of the critical IT efficiencies this provides.
Vblock Infrastructure Packages are integrated, tested and validated data center infrastructure offerings that combine best-of-breed virtualization software from VMware, unified networking, security, computing from Cisco, and storage, security and management technologies from EMC -- all with end-to-end vendor accountability. Vblock Infrastructure Packages support a broad range of operating systems and applications that enable customers to rapidly migrate existing applications to Vblock infrastructure to accelerate broad-scale data center virtualization.
"Our inclusion in the Vblock partner ecosystem provides another validation of our approach to delivering advanced technology solutions. We are honored to be among the channel partners selected by Cisco and EMC to introduce these comprehensive solutions to market," said Raphael Meyerowitz, Director of Data Center Technical Services for Presidio Networked Solutions. "We're ready for the challenge. Presidio has a Vblock infrastructure running in its three labs: Woburn, Greenbelt and Norcross, GA, and we have successfully delivered several Data Center solutions that combine storage and server virtualization to make them robust and extensible. With a proven track record of optimizing our customers' virtual resources to the fullest degree possible, Presidio is well positioned to handle market demand for Vblock architectures."
Presidio Networked Solutions qualifies for the Vblock partner ecosystem through its investment in technical certifications and partner designations for all of the Cisco, EMC and VMware products that comprise the Vblock Infrastructure Packages.
The Vblock Infrastructure Packages were developed by the Virtual Computing Environment coalition, which was formed jointly by Cisco and EMC, together with VMware. The coalition represents an unprecedented level of collaboration across development, services and partner enablement that helps minimize the risks in the infrastructure virtualization journey of customers to private cloud implementation.
