Virtualization Track at Cloud Expo
Desktop virtualization start-up Pano Logic, which just got another $20 million, is pushing into the OEM channel with an alliance with $47 billion-a-year Fujitsu that is supposed to push it into large accounts, primarily in EMEA, which explains why it got the money.
So far Pano's been concentrating on the mid-market, going direct and signing resellers.

To support the expanded market, Pano will adding a federated back-end as well as Hyper-V support and probably Xen to its VMware skills.
For $319 or $329 a seat, Pano strips the user of 100% of his processing power leaving him with only his screen, keyboard, mouse and a little black or silver cube that connects to his virtualized Windows desktop on the server back in the company's data center. The server can reportedly support 40 or 50 desktops.
The so-called zero client technology, described as the "first step toward true cloud-based computing," is supposed to reduce TCO by as much as 67% by eliminating endpoint device management, support and obsolescence. It also cuts energy costs and demands on the power grid.
Pano said this OEM relationship paves the way for ubiquitous computing through a wide range of devices - from set-top boxes to kiosks - that will link end users to computing from a wider range of locations.
Fujitsu is contributing a Pano-powered monitor called the Fujitsu Zero Client.
According to Rajat Kakar, VP, Clients Group, Fujitsu Technology Solutions, "Our customers are seeking next-generation technologies that provide them access to computing over internal private clouds and ultimately over public clouds and, together with Pano Logic, we have built a solution to address these changing needs."
