MISSISSAUGA, ON -- (Marketwire) -- 03/15/10 -- D-Link, the end-to-end computer networking solutions provider for small, medium to enterprise business environments, today announced that two of its xStack® SAN Storage products have achieved VMware Ready status by passing a detailed evaluation and testing process managed by VMware and are now listed on the VMware Hardware Compatibility List.
Passing the extensive VMware-specified testing helps ensure that these xStack SAN Storage products make best use of VMware technology, and are ready for deployment in customer environments.
"We are pleased that D-Link® xStack SAN Storage products qualify for the VMware Ready logo, signifying to customers that they have passed specific VMware testing and interoperability criteria and are ready to run in production environments," said Bernie Mills, senior director, alliance programs, VMware.
"Server consolidation provides a triad of benefits through flexibility, scaling and redundancy. Our VMware Ready xStack Storage SAN arrays can form a solid foundation for customers by providing a fast, reliable and cost-effective solution that can scale with their future needs," according to AJ Wang, D-Link's chief technology officer. "This verification from VMware adds to our credibility as a major iSCSI SAN array vendor for the business marketplace."
Both the D-Link DSN-3200-10 and DSN-5210-10 xStack iSCSI SAN arrays represent the next generation of storage technology for businesses of all sizes, including the enterprise market. "As an alternative to expensive Fibre Channel and slower software-based iSCSI solutions, D-Link's xStack SAN Storage solutions deliver cost-efficient features for IT managers looking for a robust and expandable storage solution," Wang added.
The VMware Ready program is a VMware co-branding program for qualified partner products and is a benefit of the VMware Technology Alliance Partner (TAP) program. With more than 1300 members worldwide, the VMware TAP program works with best-of-breed technology partners to provide them with a comprehensive set of VMware technical and marketing services, support, tools and expertise to deliver enhanced value to joint customers.
