A-Server Session at Cloud Expo
A-Server, a specialist in datacenter virtualization, will launch a new version of its Datacenter-as-a-Service platform at SYS-CON's 5th International Cloud Computing Expo, which will take place on April 19-21, 2010, at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City. A-Server, a silver sponsor for the event, will unveil its fully configured and installed cloud rack solution tailored to the needs for Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) and Cloud Service Providers, offering rapid deployment of reliable, flexible and cost-effective cloud computing.

A-Server opened its first sales office in North America earlier this year and already has several successful service provider customers in Europe, most known includes SymetriQ in the UK that delivers a product comparable to Amazon web services using DAAS.com.

"Cloud Computing Expo is the perfect opportunity to launch the latest version of DAAS.com at a time when many service providers are eager to offer their own solutions to gain a foothold in the increasing popular cloud computing market," comments Arvid Fossen, Director of Product Management and DAAS.com. "DAAS.com is already used by service providers in Europe and the platform has undergone an upgrade to add a number of new features based on customer feedback."
The new DAAS.com product focuses on private cloud computing. New features in DAAS.com v2 include a full new GUI, allowing improved control of both virtual and physical devices, a new unbreakable storage setup that integrates with on board SSD technology, virtual desktop provisioning and integrated monitoring. As before, DAAS.com is delivered as a turnkey solution, including hardware, software and support, allowing customers to go live instantly.
Using the DAAS.com interface, users have access to three basic commodities: compute power, storage and connectivity. The DAAS.com platform allows customers to install next to servers, virtual firewalls, network management services, VoIP servers, QoS engines and load balancers. A-Server will be demonstrating key aspects of DAAS.com throughout the three-day event.

DAAS.com uses AMD architecture to provision Windows, Linux and Sun Solaris servers with the built-in Xen and Virtual Box hypervisors. It also includes integrated KVM technology to streamline the installation and configurations of applications and operating systems. There are no restrictions on the type of applications installed within DAAS.com and each server can be assigned boot disks, data disks and temp disks plus a range of add on features such as replication and recovery services.
"We are already in discussion with several U.S. based service providers on rolling out pilot environments using DAAS.com and we plan to announce our first US customer later this year." Fossen adds.
DAAS.com on/offsite installations pricing is available on request. DAAS.com also has remote test accounts available for evaluation purposes. For more information, please visit www.DAAS.com
