HP Raids VMware

HP has rearranged some of the furniture

Virtualization Track at Cloud Expo

HP has rearranged some of the furniture, starting by moving Tom Hogan out of its Software & Solutions business unit and making him executive VP of sales, marketing and strategy in its $54 billion Enterprise Business group.

Then it pulled Richard Geraffo out of VMware, where he ran the Americas, and made him managing director for its Americas region. He'll report to Hogan.

It's also tapped the head of HP EMEA Francesco Serafini to run Emerging Markets, a newly created operation and replacing Serafini with senior VP of sales for HP Enterprise Business in EMEA Jan Zadak.

Doraisamy Balu, who ran HP Asia Pacific and Japan, is retiring on June 30 and will be replaced by Piau Phang Foo, the head of HP China.

Zadak and Foo will also report to Hogan.
