Fortuna Power Systems Debuts "Virtualization Ready" Proware

Proware's Exclusive EMEA Distribution Partner, Fortuna Power Systems, Now Seeking Additional Reseller Partners in the UK

Proware's exclusive UK distribution partner, Fortuna Power Systems, on Thursday announced the EMEA launch of the Proware EPICa 4423 Fibre Channel RAID/MAID subsystems. The Proware EP-4423 is among the industry's fastest 42-bay SAS or SATA drive RAID/MAID subsystems, with the EP-4423 JD-S3S3 delivering a maximum speed of 4,856 MB and an average speed of 4,000MB. Fortuna Power Systems is the exclusive distribution partner for the Proware range across EMEA and is currently seeking resellers who embrace low-price, high-performance alternatives to the established storage players.

Features and Benefits
Proware's "Virtualisation-Ready" EP-4423 Fibre Channel RAID/MAID subsystems can utilise both SATA and SAS drives, making it a truly flexible storage player. Other key benefits include low price point, reduced power usage, high capacity and outstanding scalability and expandability via the EP-4423JD-S3S3 JBOD chassis.

With its enormous capacity and virtually unlimited scalability, the EP-4423 is popular in a wide range of sectors, including healthcare, cloud computing, video, bioscience, oil & gas, banking, CCTV surveillance and hosted service providers. The EP-4423 is also very well suited to disk-to-disk backup.

The EP-4423 offers phenomenal "Green" potential with 40-60% power savings, an important consideration for enterprises seeking to reduce maintenance overheads and meet their Carbon Reduction Commitments (CRCs). These savings are also a great benefit to the IT department's bottom line.

Virtualisation and storage reseller recruitment drive
Proware offers an extensive range of storage subsystems from 4-bay desktop to 42-bay 4u rackmount encompassing all current host interface. With interchangeable components and a flexible design that does not put constraints on customers, the Proware EP-4423 is able to scale upwards and outwards as clients' requirements increase.

"The products we choose are based on the long-term viability of the vendor and their technology," explained Ray Quattromini, Managing Director of Fortuna Power Systems. "After sales support, service is a key requirement as to how fast a vendor reacts to problems in the field. Proware is phenomenal in both regards. The Proware EP-4423 RAID/MAID subsystems are technically first-class and provide excellent technical support and expertise, reacting quickly to challenges faced in the field. Fortuna Power Systems has been working with Proware technology for six years and we are proud to be the exclusive UK distribution partner for Proware."

Quattromini added that Fortuna was initially drawn to Proware because "we were looking for something new from a reputable vendor that was reliable, feature-rich and offered excellent margin comparison for our resellers."

Price protection and lead registration at core of channel program
Fortuna Power Systems currently has a number of resellers in key verticals successfully selling Proware products. An expert in storage integration, Fortuna offers top-of-line service and price protection. Fortuna engages with both end users and resellers, creates market pull and passes sales opportunities back through to channel partners. Fortuna also provides evaluation systems for "Proof of Concept," offering full price protection and background information for partners.

"Fortuna is a fantastic distribution partner to work with, both for their expertise and for their knowledgeable, friendly hands-on support," said Darren Spurr, Account Manager at Symitry, a Fortuna reseller based in Uxbridge, UK. "Proware's product portfolio is extensive and its options wide, but Fortuna is a long-term expert. They ask all the right questions to ensure that both resellers and end users understand which products fit which marketplace, to what scale. The high performance, flexibility, green credentials, and incredibly low price point of the Proware range mean that it is often easier to sell than some of the more expensive options customers face. This means customers can get under the budgetary signoff radar more quickly, with a product that is equally as high performing as those from many of the established storage players."

When talking IoT we often focus on the devices, the sensors, the hardware itself. The new smart appliances, the new smart or self-driving cars (which are amalgamations of many ‘things'). When we are looking at the world of IoT, we should take a step back, look at the big picture. What value are these devices providing. IoT is not about the devices, its about the data consumed and generated. The devices are tools, mechanisms, conduits. This paper discusses the considerations when dealing with the...
