LOS ANGELES, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 04/24/12 -- SOA Software, a leading provider of SOA governance, cloud and enterprise API Management products, announced its expansion to Australia and New Zealand with the addition of Iain Goodway in charge of the region. The company decided to expand its business operations into the region in response to growing customer demand.
"Our expansion in Australia and New Zealand is the result of engagement with some of the largest banking, telecommunications and government clients," said Paul Gigg, President and CEO, SOA Software. "Organizations in Australia are rapidly implementing SOA as part of a move towards a cloud operating model."
Iain Goodway is a senior executive with extensive experience selling IT solutions (hardware and software) throughout the Middle East, Africa and Australia. Over a thirty-year career, he has managed sales teams doing direct and channel sales to telecom, government, and enterprise clients. In particular, Goodway has a proven track record in opening new markets and setting up reseller channels. His experience includes tenures with CA, Serole Technologies, MICROMega Technologies, and Ericsson.
"The maturity and success of SOA within Australian enterprises is growing the need for integrated SOA governance and API Management of these environments," said Goodway. "There's substantial traction for SOA Software in this market."
Driven by potential cost savings, the Australian IT industry is steadily moving towards improving interoperability within and without the enterprise by adopting open standards. This growth is resulting in a higher level of interest in automated SOA governance. In addition, the rapid expansion of mobile computing in Australia has led to an increased emphasis on secure, manageable application programming interfaces (APIs), which SOA Software tools can also govern.
