SAN FRANCISCO, April 25, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- UBM TechWeb's InformationWeek Government announced that Federal CIO Steven VanRoekel and more than a dozen other top technology executives from the U.S. government will participate in its third annual Government IT Leadership Forum.
InformationWeek's Government IT Leadership Forum takes place Thursday, May 3rd, at the Newseum in Washington, D.C. More than 125 government IT managers and executives are expected to attend the day-long event to discuss how they're using technology to drive change at their respective agencies. Prominent CIOs from civilian, defense, and intelligence agencies will lead peer-based discussions around cloud computing, IT spending, project management, shared services, open government, and more.
In the opening keynote session, Federal CIO VanRoekel will discuss his top priorities for driving new innovations and greater efficiencies in federal IT. Other featured speakers include Federal CTO Todd Park, Department of Defense CIO Teri Takai, U.S. Intelligence Community CIO Al Tarasiuk, and FBI CTO Jeffrey Johnson.
The agenda includes a session titled "Mobile Government in Action," where representatives from federal agencies demonstrate real-world mobile applications. InformationWeek Editor in Chief and VP Rob Preston leads a session titled "Brainstorming with the Private Sector," where Lorraine Cichowski, CIO and Senior VP of Associated Press, and Steve Phillips, CIO and Senior VP of global electronics distributor Avnet, discuss best practices with government IT executive attendees.
