F5 Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ:FFIV), the global leader in Application Delivery Networking (ADN), today announced that the company will provide IT services, including IPv4–IPv6 translation, firewall, SSL VPN, and web optimization technologies, for the Network Operations Center (NOC) at the Interop conference, taking place May 6–10 in Las Vegas. F5’s EVP of Product Development and CTO, Karl Triebes, will also participate in a panel discussion at the event. In addition, the company will showcase its market-leading ADN solutions, as well as cloud and virtualization solutions with Microsoft, in F5’s booth #2137.
“F5 Networks is once again supporting the Interop NOC with technologies that help attendees get the most out of their time at the conference,” said Triebes. “With a full slate of activities at the show, we look forward to highlighting F5’s innovative solutions and demonstrating how companies can implement a dynamic data center approach that takes advantage of cloud and virtualization technologies to address evolving application, user access, and security demands.”
F5 will participate in a number of conference events, including:
- Panel Discussion with F5 CTO, Karl Triebes
Triebes will participate in a panel discussion entitled, “Is This the End of Physical Appliances?” on Tuesday, May 8, at 2:30 p.m. PT in Lagoon J. The discussion will focus on the growing use of virtual devices in the data center, and how this affects the fate of physical appliances. As a panelist, Triebes will offer F5’s viewpoint to help attendees better understand the ways that physical, virtual, and hybrid ADN architectures can support specific initiatives, and how to evaluate deployment options.
- F5 and Microsoft Cloud Reference Architecture Demonstration
F5 and Microsoft have created a virtualized network architecture to enable more agile cloud deployments, which will be demonstrated at F5’s booth. The demonstration will show the ease of managing application workloads across traditional network and data center boundaries using the F5® BIG-IP® Local Traffic Manager™ and Windows Server 2012 Beta Hyper-V Network Virtualization. Specifically, the solution will demonstrate how to move an on-premise virtual machine (VM) to a shared infrastructure hosted data center without changing the IP address of the application VM.
“Windows Server 2012 is a cloud-optimized OS that addresses the need for successful cloud architectures to include integration among compute, storage, and networking resources,” said Sandeep Singhal, General Manager, Windows Networking, Microsoft. “Innovations such as Hyper-V Network Virtualization allow multiple virtual networks—potentially with overlapping IP addresses—to be deployed on the same physical network. When customers use Windows Server 2012’s cloud-optimized functionality with solutions such as F5’s BIG-IP Local Traffic Manager, they have a powerful way to deal with network-related challenges and accelerate the adoption of cloud-based architectures.”
- Activities at F5’s Booth and Meeting Room
Throughout Interop, F5 will showcase the company’s market-leading ADN solutions at booth #2137 in the main exhibition hall. Visitors will learn how to overcome IT challenges using the F5 BIG-IP system to optimize their infrastructures, enhance application performance for mobile users, and efficiently leverage cloud resource models, among other topics. Visitors can play the “Big Claw Challenge” for a chance to win prizes, including an iPad 3, Xbox 360 with Kinect, gift cards, and much more. Additionally, F5 will host an IT Professionals Reception in Reef D on Tuesday, May 8, at 5:00 p.m. PT. F5 will also participate in the Interop Booth Crawl on Wednesday, May 9, at 3:30 p.m. PT.
- Classroom-style Presentation: F5 in the Interop NOC
On Wednesday, May 9, at 11:15 a.m. PT, F5 will offer a class detailing how F5 solutions help power the Interop NOC. Entitled “Data Center Application and Service Delivery,” the class will be held in the InteropNet Classroom in booth #450.
