ROSEVILLE, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 05/02/12 -- Accela, Inc. announced today that the City of Roseville, Calif., will use its Accela Automation® enterprise software to streamline and automate permitting processes by moving many key steps online for the convenience of developers, citizens, and businesses.
The new system will be used by Roseville's development services, which delivers permitting, plan review and inspection processes, including entitlement and environmental reviews. Intuitive, simplified interactions with the city's Permit Center are critical to the city's ongoing economic growth -- in order to attract new businesses and support existing businesses and residents.
"Customer service is our foremost guiding principle," said Chris Robles, Roseville's Community Development Manager. "We look forward to engaging our customers and continually improving the delivery of our services with the more intuitive and transparent interface that Accela Automation can provide."
The city's population has increased dramatically since 2000, growing 50 percent from 80,000 to 120,000 residents, and is projected to grow another 20 percent by 2015. Located in the Sacramento metropolitan area, the city is a center for jobs and shopping, with one of the world's largest auto malls, and is home to the popular Westfield Galleria at Roseville.
To keep pace with ongoing development and a growing need for services, Roseville will deploy the land management application of Accela Automation, as well as a number of powerful add-on applications to speed up and simplify the permitting process.
- Accela Citizen Access will let building contractors and tradespeople look up information online and submit and pay for permit applications;
- Accela GIS will provide agency staff with an easy way to interact with GIS data through integration with their Esri or Internet maps; and
- Accela Mobile Office will help building inspectors work more efficiently by enabling two-way data updates from mobile devices in real time.
"Roseville's giant population spike in recent years has made it the fastest-growing city in the Sacramento area," said Maury Blackman, president and CEO of Accela. "It's important for any community government experiencing rapid change to keep its eye on the future and find new and better ways to serve the public. Accela Automation will support the ways that citizens and businesses want to interact with Roseville's services: easily, transparently, and whenever they need."
Roseville's Accela Automation implementation is scheduled to go live in January 2013. Accela partner TruePoint Solutions has been helping the city to implement the Accela system and deploy additional services.
