SPAR and Fabasoft were crowned winners of the ECM Award 2012 in the category “Innovative Implementation”. The award-winning project was the successful changeover to the new document management system Fabasoft Folio at the SPAR Austria Group. The prize-giving took place on April 26, 2012 in front of 150 guests at the MARX Palace in Vienna.

Every year, in the category “Innovative Implementation” an independent expert jury honors the best ECM customer projects. Together with Fabasoft, SPAR received the prestigious ECM award for the company-wide implementation of Fabasoft Folio. Since October 31, 2012 more than 4,400 users in seven different countries have been working with the new document management system (DMS). The project was carried out as scheduled in just ten months and medium term Fabasoft Folio is to be implemented throughout the entire SPAR Group.

And the winners are … SPAR Business Services GmbH and Fabasoft

Andreas Kranabitl, Managing Director SPAR Business Services GmbH, is delighted with the ECM Award 2012: “Winning the ECM Award 2012 is confirmation of the project’s innovative implementation. Fabasoft Managing Director Michael Hadrian is also happy with the latest accolade: “This award is a fitting conclusion to mark a successful collaboration project. Fabasoft Folio was received very positively by the users. This is, among other things, due to our consistent focus on high user friendliness, which was also a major success factor is this project. We’ve now laid solid foundations for the rollout across the entire business group.”

About the ECM Award

In 2012 the ECM Award was awarded in four categories for the third time as part of the ECM Day. The award was initiated by Pentadoc and media partner Computerwelt in order to raise awareness that the focus of ECM is on users and not technology. The jury comprises of renowned, independent experts from industry and academia and selects the winners in the categories economic efficiency, innovative implementation, ECM solution of the year and ECM provider of the year.
