Twilio (http://www.twilio.com), the market leader in cloud communications, announced today its expansion into four new European countries. The startup is launching phone numbers in Belgium, Finland, The Netherlands and Sweden for use with the Twilio Voice API, which is used to make and receive telephone calls programmatically.
With further expansion into Europe, Twilio is empowering the growing developer community. The San Francisco-based company now has phone numbers available in 10 European countries, as well as the US and Canada. Additionally, Twilio provides phone numbers in Italy, Spain and Portugal through the EU Voice Beta. To sign up for the EU Voice Beta, visit http://www.twilio.com/eu-beta-signup.
Twilio’s communications platform simplifies a century of complex telecommunications technologies into simple, web-based building blocks that anyone with access to basic software programming skills can use to build incredibly powerful and robust applications.
“By expanding further into Europe, Twilio is opening the door for new developers to use our technology within their own country,” said Lisa Weitekamp, Product Manager at Twilio. “The expansion also benefits current customers by giving them new geographies in which they are able to provide services. We’re thrilled to see what is going to be built using Twilio.”

Twilio will be hosting their second annual TwilioCon on October 16, 17 and 18, 2012 in San Francisco. Call for speakers and pre-registration for the event are open now. To register to attend or apply to speak, please visit http://www.twilio.com/conference.
