AppRiver, a leading provider of email messaging and Web security solutions, is pleased to announce the opening of its new Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) headquarters, AppRiver AG, in Canton Aargau, Switzerland.
AppRiver AG operations will focus on delivering the company’s leading IT security solutions to the EMEA market while providing local access to AppRiver’s award-winning customer service, 24 hours a day, every day.
“The expansion into Europe, including the hire of local resources, will provide better service and support to our growing client roster,” said Michael Murdoch, CEO, AppRiver. “Our investment demonstrates the commitment and confidence we have in developing new solutions that will keep customers around the globe safe. For AppRiver, security is more than a service we provide; it is part of our corporate DNA.”
Founded in 2002, AppRiver protects more than 45,000 businesses around the globe from today’s most sophisticated IT threats. The company’s cloud-based security suite includes email hosting, email security, archiving, encryption and Web protection services. SecureSurf™, one of the newest additions to the AppRiver portfolio, is a comprehensive and cost-effective Web filtering and malware protection solution. All services come with a 30-day free trial and are backed by AppRiver’s signature Phenomenal Care™.
The expansion of its footprint into the EMEA market responds to a demonstrated demand for AppRiver services worldwide. In the past five years, AppRiver’s annual revenue has increased by 430 percent. As a result, the company has added more than 100 employees to keep pace with this rapid growth.
"For a variety of reasons, including legal and practical considerations, European organizations often prefer to do business with companies that are located here," said Franz Grueter, CEO, green.ch. "As a long-time AppRiver partner, we at green.ch have been impressed by the company's services as well as its commitment to customer service. By establishing an EMEA headquarters here in Switzerland, AppRiver is opening the door for thousands of new customers who need its managed security services."
The new office will be located adjacent to a new green.ch data center, designed and built to TIER III standards, with state-of-the-art security and interruption-free technology incorporated. Access to the green.ch facilities will enable AppRiver to immediately connect with other businesses via the ultra-secure and highly available ecosystem. It will also allow AppRiver to promote and deploy its cloud-based security services through the green.ch international data centers and to the platform’s 100,000-plus customers.
