MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 05/09/12 -- Xeround, the Cloud Database Company, today announced the availability of their database-as-a-service for MySQL applications on Rackspace Cloud UK datacenter.
Xeround is already available on Rackspace Cloud in the US, as well as on Amazon EC2 in the US and in Europe, Heroku, Engine Yard, and most recently in beta on HP Cloud Services.
This latest addition of Rackspace UK datacenter marks Xeround's continued expansion to additional regions, cloud providers and cloud platforms worldwide.
Now, Rackspace Cloud users in the UK can experience a zero-management, highly available and scalable cloud database solution in just one click -- without having to install, configure or maintain their own MySQL database in the cloud.
Available in BASIC and PRO levels, Xeround's database-as-a-service boasts a complete end-to-end solution for seamlessly running MySQL applications in the cloud. Unlike other database solutions, Xeround is the only true native cloud database -- engineered specifically for the unique cloud environment thus avoiding the pitfalls of a traditional MySQL installation in the cloud.
UK customers can simply register to Xeround's service to create their cloud database, choosing Rackspace's UK datacenter from the list of available datacenters. The first 30 days of using Xeround BASIC or Xeround PRO plans are free.
"The availability of Xeround's service on the UK Rackspace Cloud is the direct result of the growing demand from developers around the globe asking for our cloud database service for their MySQL apps," said Razi Sharir, CEO of Xeround. "Now those in the UK can experience the least amount of friction while developing in the cloud and enjoy Xeround's no-downtime guarantee and true elasticity."
"We're delighted that Xeround's database solution is now available on the UK Rackspace Cloud, and is readily available to customers wanting to use our UK datacenter," said Peter Day, Senior Product Manager at Rackspace.
"By choosing Xeround, we know our database is always live and scales automatically without worrying about maintaining and supporting it ourselves," said Rajiv Perera, partner at Blue Saki Online. "By offloading database management in the cloud to those that do it best, we're able to focus on our code rather than IT, and save considerable time, effort and cost."
