Mavenir Systems met en place les RCS

- Un portefeuille plus large de services convergents. – Des services avancés et une mise en route rapide pour les opérateurs.

RICHARDSON, Texas, 6 novembre 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Mavenir Systems, société innovante leader dans le domaine des infrastructures pour opérateurs de téléphonie mobile, vient de confirmer qu'elle a entièrement intégré la version RCS 5 des Rich Communication Services de la GSMA dans son portefeuille de services convergents. Avec cette nouvelle version, Mavenir Systems est la première société à offrir des solutions RCS 5 complètes, comprenant la téléphonie, la vidéo et les messages.

Cette toute nouvelle norme RCS rassemble le RCS v1.4 et le RCS-e v1.2 ; elle ajoute la convergence des messages sur IP (Converged IP Messaging, CPM) pour l'interfonctionnement de ces services avec les SMS/MMS. De plus, elle offrira aux opérateurs de téléphonie mobile une interopérabilité complète des services entre les réseaux de chacun.

Cette confirmation intervient quelques jours après le communiqué du 31 octobre, dans lequel MetroPCS annonçait le tout premier lancement commercial de services RCS 5, via Mavenir. Grâce à ce lancement, MetroPCS fournit de nouvelles fonctionnalités innovantes, comme le carnet d'adresses de téléphone mobile avec présence sur les réseaux sociaux et partage de contenu en un clic, la voix et la vidéo sur IP, et les messages multimédia avec historique des échanges. MetroPCS a pu mettre rapidement en place ses nouveaux services RCS 5.0 en utilisant la même plateforme Mavenir mOne® que pour son service de voix sur LTE (Voice over LTE, VoLTE), premier produit de ce type à avoir été proposé sur le marché.

La GSMA a salué le premier déploiement d'un Rich Communication Service comprenant un ensemble de services ayant reçu l'accréditation joyn™, qui s'appuie sur la dernière norme RCS de Mavenir et MetroPCS. L'accréditation joyn™ valide l'ubiquité, la sécurité, la qualité de service et l'interconnexion ; elle a pour but de permettre aux opérateurs de créer un « modèle » unique à l'échelle mondiale pour les services RCS. Ainsi, la marque joyn™ indiquera aux utilisateurs que leur appareil est compatible avec les RCS, c'est-à-dire qu'il est à même de reconnaître et de leur montrer automatiquement les méthodes pour communiquer avec leurs contacts via le chat, la vidéo, les appels ou les échanges de fichiers, à tout moment.
