At Momentum, the EMC Information Intelligence Group's EMEA user conference, EMC Corporation (NYSE: EMC) today announced MRC Technology, a healthcare technology transfer company and charity with its own drug discovery laboratories, has selected the EMC® OnDemand, a private cloud deployment model for enterprise-class applications. A fully-managed service, EMC OnDemand service enables MRCT to focus its resources on managing intellectual property (IP) and medical and scientific documentation, and not on maintaining the technology infrastructure required to support it.
MRCT is committed to translating cutting edge scientific discoveries into commercial products. The company adds value to the discovery process by working with companies, agencies and academic organizations for strategic patent protection and intellectual property licensing. Since its founding, MRCT has filed more than 300 patents, granted more than 400 licenses to its technologies, and generated licensing income in excess of 500 million Pounds Sterling for the UK's Medical Research Council, a government funded organization dedicated to tackling health problems.
MRCT uses the Documentum® OnDemand, EMC's managed hosting service to access, protect and manage the information that runs its business – its IP management, financial documentation and HR records. The repository is globally accessible, and the data center is hosted in Amsterdam.
