Layer 7 Technologies, a provider of security and connectivity building blocks for the new open enterprise, today announced that, for the second consecutive year, it has been named to the Technology Fast 500, ranking 183, based on 500% growth. Deloitte’s ranking of the 500 fastest growing technology, media, telecommunications, life sciences and clean technology companies in North America, is based upon their percentage of revenue growth over the five-year period between 2007-2011. The recognition is based on audited financials.
“The 2012 Technology Fast 500 winners are true leaders who leverage their entrepreneurship and technological innovation to achieve strong growth,” said Richard Lee, National Leader, Technology, Media & Telecommunications Industry Group, Deloitte. “Their commitment and leadership continue to transform the technology sector.”
Layer 7 previously ranked #71 in the 2011 Technology Fast 500, and #15 in the Canadian Fast 50.
With accelerated proliferation of mobile devices into the enterprise and the rapidly expanding footprint of a global app economy, Layer 7 experienced increased demand for its API security and management products in 2011. In 2012, Layer 7 continued its momentum, launching a version of its API Gateway for secure mobile access and a cloud-based API management service, APIfy for enterprises looking to build external developer communities around their APIs. The company marked its fourth year of profitability and doubled its employee headcount to nearly 200 across North America, Europe and Asia Pacific.
“We are thrilled to be listed on the Deloitte Fast 500 for the second consecutive year,” said Paul Rochester, CEO of Layer 7. “We have seen increased demand for our API security and management solutions driven by the growth of web, mobility and cloud technologies. This award is a testament to the terrific work our team has been doing to make Layer 7 the de facto standard for those organizations that are looking to build a successful mobility strategy.”
