PORTLAND, OR -- (Marketwire) -- 12/05/12 -- Addressing the dual challenges of increasing scrutiny of environmental risks and the intensifying need for organizations to streamline compliance with government regulations, Verdant Web Technologies LLC (Verdant) has launched in Portland, Oregon with a mission to help multi-facility organizations create uniform, paperless and cost-efficient environmental compliance data that will meet the stringent requirements of environmental regulators.
A wholly owned subsidiary of leading NW consulting firm PBS Environmental + Engineering Inc., Verdant was created to leverage the power of technology to simplify and lower the cost of developing and maintaining asbestos surveys, lead information, drinking water data, training records and other regulatory data. Modules for these and other environmental issues are bundled to create a custom platform for easy, web-based data management.
"Verdant uses technology to do what technology does best," says PBS President and Verdant co-founder Ron Petti, "and that is to store, organize and make readily accessible large amounts of data in a simple and cost effective way."
According to Petti, environmental regulators are becoming increasingly open to technology solutions to satisfy environmental record keeping requirements. "We're finding a growing acceptance, particularly in EPA Region 10, of paperless, web-based data management systems for environmental recordkeeping. Our instincts tell us that this acceptance will only grow as regulators observe how superior these systems perform, while also lowering the cost of compliance and reducing the overall environmental footprint of paper-based record keeping," said Petti.
Verdant Web Technologies' customized data modules can be populated from archived information or through ongoing data input by the user. Other Verdant services include organization of archived data, scanning and uploading, interactive facility plans, database creation, and web hosting services.
The Verdant data center features the latest modern enterprise level information technologies for reliability and performance. The Verdant web hosting servers exist in a redundant cloud, backed by an enterprise-level fiber internet connection that has uptime in excess of 99.99%. The web and database connectivity is secured using industry-standard encryption for privacy.
Verdant is headquartered in Portland, Oregon and has a core team consisting of industry practitioners and software developers with more than 25 years of experience in the environmental compliance industry. Verdant clients include school districts, universities, public agencies, hospitals, and large-scale corporations. Read more about Verdant at www.verdantwebtech.com.
