M*Modal Canada, a leading provider of clinical documentation and speech understanding solutions, today announced that Providence Health Care (PHC), leader of consolidated Health Information Management service across British Columbia’s Lower Mainland, has selected M*Modal Fluency for Transcription™ as the exclusive speech platform for all Lower Mainland Health Authorities hospitals and facilities. As the largest health network in British Columbia, Canada, Lower Mainland Health Authorities will be implementing this technology in 38 hospitals and health centers to improve the quality of documentation and productivity for approximately 10,000 physicians.
PHC was charged with identifying a clinical documentation platform to replace multiple aged, legacy systems throughout the Lower Mainland Health Authorities facilities, and selected M*Modal Canada for its ability to deploy a single, speech-based solution. In addition to PHC, Lower Mainland Health Authorities includes Fraser Health, Vancouver Coastal Health and Provincial Health Services Authority.
“We are intensely focused on developing a clinical documentation model that provides the highest quality care with best-in-class efficiency and turnaround times,” said Yoel Robens-Paradise, Executive Director, Integrated Health Information Management at Providence Health Care. “We’ve partnered with M*Modal to deliver on that promise with a common platform that works seamlessly across all of our facilities and improves physician productivity.”
M*Modal’s Fluency for Transcription gives physicians a single document management and workflow solution that integrates the capture of voice with speech recognition, editing and electronic signature tools. With this platform, physicians can quickly and easily create comprehensive electronic health records that relay the heart of the patient's story.
“Our cloud-based technology surpasses traditional transcription solutions, giving physicians reliable, accurate records that will allow them to provide better care to their patients and improve the workflow of the entire health facility,” said Vern Davenport, CEO, M*Modal. “The opportunity to work with one of the largest healthcare providers in Canada is very exciting for our global team.”
Hospitals and health systems continue to be faced with the challenge of increasing documentation requirements. As the largest clinical documentation services provider in the U.S. and Canada, M*Modal offers the scalability and high-quality documentation to help customers maximize healthcare resources, turnaround time and return on investment. Cloud-based M*Modal Fluency for Transcription further empowers quality assurance and HIM personnel to monitor quality and transcription workflows. The solution also enables physicians to dictate anytime, anywhere, on any device, and perform real-time editing of their own speech recognized reports, improving speed and the entire transcription process.
