Fuller, Inc, the next-generation mobile software development company, raises $1.2M seed round from London-based m8 Capital and Tokyo-based ASAHI Net.
Tsukuba, Ibaraki, Japan - December 17, 2012
Fuller, Inc, a Japan-based technology startup, announces the closing of a 100 million yen ($1.2m) seed round. The round is being led by m8 Capital and ASAHI Net. m8 Capital is a London-based venture capital firm that invests in mobile technology companies and ASAHI Net is a Tokyo-based Internet Service Provider (ISP) that offers internet access services as well as cloud application services.
Fuller, Inc. is a next-generation mobile software development company founded in November 2011. The companies' founders met at the University of Tsukuba, one of Japan's leading Universities. The company now boasts an all-star team of Japan's leading young developers. The team has previously launched products in social media and app discovery.
With this funding, the company will continue its mission to rethink the way users deal with mobile utilities, making them faster, smarter and easier. Currently, Fuller is focusing heavily on phone optimization technology and will launch their first android application outside of Japan in Q1 2013. This app, which has already launched in Japan to critical acclaim, allows the user to monitor and improve the 'health' of their phone using an avatar-based UI.
Fuller Inc is an archetypal tech start-up, whose teamwork, live, eat, and sleep out of a house in Tsukuba's Science City.
Joseph Kim, General Partner, m8 Capital, commented, "Fuller is straight out of the movie, The Social Network. But instead of Palo Alto, it's Tsukuba. The team at Fuller is working to make apps that enhance the smartphone experience. We're excited to be part of their exciting efforts."
