PORT TOWNSEND, WA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 07/19/06 -- For the second time in the past two years, Mobilisa, an innovator in mobile and wireless technology, has been named one of the "Best Companies to Work For" in Washington State by Washington CEO Magazine. Ranked in the top 10 of all the small companies in Washington (under 100 employees), Mobilisa was the top high tech business and the only company out of 54 finalists located on the Olympic Peninsula.
"I'm really thrilled by this award as it is primarily our employees who rate us as a company," said Bonnie Ludlow, co-founder and CFO for Mobilisa. "When my husband and I founded Mobilisa, we had a very distinct vision of the type of environment that we wanted to create. We strive to provide job security, great benefits, technically challenging projects, and an attitude of cooperation and academic exchange among all our employees."
Washington CEO received nominations from nearly 150 companies and had more than 100 participants this year. Employees from nominated businesses were asked to fill out anonymous surveys on the Internet, grading their company's management team in 10 different categories, ranging from hiring and retention to benefits and corporate culture.
Scoring for the categories was on a scale of zero to 10, with 10 the highest. Employees' results were tabulated and their scores determined which companies made the list of finalists. Survey results and corporate profiles provided by the nominees were judged with the judges' scores accounting for 30% and the employees' surveys for 70%. The combined scores determined each company's final ranking on the list.
Mobilisa celebrated its five-year anniversary recently. The company is known nationwide for its innovation in putting Wi-Fi on the Washington State Ferries and developing an ID verification system that prevents suspicious or potentially dangerous individuals from gaining access to military bases and other secure locations.
Mobilisa is a global provider of mobile and wireless technology, delivering innovative solutions for the government, military and business. Mobilisa is a US corporation, headquartered in Port Townsend, Washington with an East Coast Regional Office in Alexandria, Virginia.
