Today Pantheon, the all-in-one Drupal platform, announced that the company is now serving over a billion Web hits a month. Since the company’s worldwide launch nine months ago, thousands of Web development firms, corporations and media companies have chosen Pantheon to run their websites in the cloud—freeing them from the expense of hardware and servers. With Pantheon, companies for the first time can bring the simplicity and success of the SaaS model used in CRM, marketing and productivity apps for the critical function of building, launching and running Drupal websites.
Based on a Web-scale infrastructure, Pantheon is able to serve everything as small as a personal website or as high-traffic as the most viewed online publications in the world. This approach—proven in the CRM, marketing and productivity app spaces—is unique in the enterprise Web content management system (CMS) market, which until now has historically lacked the innovation enjoyed in these other areas.
“We created Pantheon to liberate developers and companies from having to buy, run and manage servers in order to bring their ideas to the Web,” said Zack Rosen, CEO of Pantheon. “It’s been rewarding to see the number and diversity of companies that share that vision and are now using Pantheon, helping us reach this important milestone just a few months after our launch.”
New Dashboard Now Available
Pantheon is also announcing the immediate availability of the new Apollo Dashboard, which makes the power of the CMS cloud available with just a browser. Using the dashboard, developers and administrators can deploy sites, create staging and testing environments, and manage code deployments, all from a simple user interface. Traditionally, each of these tasks could take weeks of work. Now they are available for companies with just one click.
“Before switching to Pantheon, our developers spent too many resources on operational things like site performance, server management, edge infrastructure and all the other pieces necessary to run a modern website,” said Matt Johnson, managing partner and co-founder, Alley Interactive. “Pantheon manages all of this for us in the cloud, ensuring that our clients get the best experience from their sites, and we don’t have to worry about running servers and carrying pagers.”
Pantheon is based on the open-source CMS, Drupal, which is backed by a global community of over 900,000 users and more than 22,000 developers. Over 1.5 million websites run on Drupal, including some of the best known and most trafficked destinations on the Web.
Pantheon is available now at http://getpantheon.com. Free plans are available, with paid plans starting at $25 per month. For enterprise plans, please contact Pantheon at 1-855-927-9387.
