PALO ALTO, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 07/25/06 -- Scalent Systems, the leading provider of server infrastructure repurposing software for large enterprise data centers, today announced that Kevin Epstein has joined its executive team as vice president of marketing. Kevin will lead corporate branding and marketing program efforts for Scalent. He brings with him a wealth of experience in driving marketing strategy for enterprise and infrastructure virtualization software companies.
Prior to joining Scalent, Kevin founded and ran the marketing programs team for VMware, Inc., an EMC company, where he was responsible for marketing strategy, outbound marketing, product management, and marketing programs. While in that role, Kevin drove company growth from $20mm to more than $500mm in annual sales.
Previously, Kevin ran product management for Inktomi Corporation's Network Products division, responsible for all caching and content delivery server and network products, as well as satellite and ad delivery products. Prior to Inktomi, he held various product management and marketing leadership roles at RealNetworks and Netscape, as well as a founding position with CDnow, and advisory roles with various venture-backed startup companies. Kevin is also a multiple patent-holder, and author of "Marketing Made Easy," a popular trade book from Entrepreneur Magazine Press.
