- Government IT’s Move to Cloud Slowed by Security Concerns, Misconceptions - “It’s important that we start with mission areas that are affected by cloud, as opposed to technology, because at the end of the day it’s how cloud can … be more efficient to help in different types of mission areas both for the government and for society,” says Dan Chenok, executive director of IBM’s Center for the Business of Government. Pro-Swartz Hackers Attack U.S. Department of Justice Website – Hackers took over the DOJ Sentencing Commission on the 26th, in the name of Aaron Swartz. They put up a statement on the website, claiming further attacks will be forthcoming. Anonymous has taken some responsibility for the hack, and the FBI is investigating. Via PC Magazine, more here.
- Dept of Defense training center proposed - US SOCOM may partner with the Department of Psychiatry at the Yale School of Medicine to help teach Special Operations troops how to better interview. This training center, for which negotiations are still happening, would be a joint venture and be an educational institute. Via Yale Daily News, more here.
- Israeli Troops Swap Guns for Computers as Cyber Attacks Rise - The Israeli Army is moving quickly to train up their cyber defenses. There is an intensifying battle for the subterranean fiber cables that run between Israel and its neighbors. Via Bloomberg, more here.
