MONTREAL, QUEBEC -- (Marketwire) -- 02/12/13 -- Cogeco Cable (TSX:CCA) ("COGECO") announced today the increase of upload and download speeds and monthly transfer capacities of its Business High Speed Internet (HSI) packages in both Ontario and Quebec. These service upgrades enrich, at various levels, the entire range of Cogeco Business Solutions Internet packages. The improvements were implemented as of February 1st for all users, and Cogeco Business Internet customers will see these changes take effect over the course of this month.
Cogeco Business Solutions High Speed Internet service includes four different packages adapted to suit the different needs of businesses. Each of these has been improved without additional cost to the subscriber, as follows:
The Business Starter package now offers an upload speed of up to 2Mbps and a monthly data usage limit of 200 GB, upgraded from 640 kbps and 120 GB, respectively. The maximum download speed remains unchanged at 10 Mbps.
Business Standard package subscribers now enjoy an upload speed of up to 2 Mbps and a monthly data usage limit of 250 GB, formerly 1 Mbps and 200 GB, respectively. The maximum download speed remains unchanged at 16 Mbps.
The Business Ultimate 30 package is replaced by the new Business Ultimate 45 package with a higher download speed of up to 45 Mbps and a monthly data usage limit of 350 GB, formerly 30 Mbps and 300 GB, respectively. The current maximum upload speed of 2Mbps remains unchanged.
The new Business Ultimate 60 package replaces the former Ultimate 55 package. This package is now enhanced with a download speed upgrade reaching up to 60 Mbps versus 55 Mbps with the former package. The monthly data usage allowance remains unlimited and maximum upload speed remains at 2 Mbps.
Ron Perrotta, Vice President Marketing and Strategic Planning at Cogeco Cable, highlights the importance of these upgrades in his following comment: "The demand for increased capacity and speed in Business Internet services is growing quickly. Our upgraded packages better meet our customers' and prospects' needs in this respect. These upgrades, accompanied with no change in pricing and the opportunity to lock in current rates with our "Three Year Price Guarantee" illustrate our efforts to provide entrepreneurs with the most flexible internet service they can get."
