PROVIDENCE, RI -- (Marketwire) -- 02/21/13 -- GreenBytes®, Inc., a developer of full-featured virtual desktop solutions that uniquely support existing infrastructure, today announced that its IO Offload Engine has achieved VMware Ready status. This designation indicates that after a detailed validation process, the IO Offload Engine has achieved VMware's highest level of endorsement, and can be found on the VMware Solution Exchange (VSX).
"Combining GreenBytes' patented zero latency data reduction technology with VMware View 5.1 provides customers with simple, cost-effective ways to provision and operate high-performance desktop virtualization," said Steve O'Donnell, chairman and CEO, GreenBytes. "The combination offers customers a choice between full image and cloned virtual desktops that can be rolled out in minutes. The IO Offload Engine is uniquely simple, scales from SME to cloud, and is completely vendor-agnostic. Achieving VMware Ready status for the GreenBytes IO Offload Engine is an important accomplishment as we continue our focus on improving the desktop virtualization user experience."
"We are pleased that GreenBytes' IO Offload Engine qualifies for the VMware Ready logo, signifying to customers that it has met specific VMware integration and interoperability standards and it works effectively with VMware cloud infrastructure, which will speed time to value within customer environments," said Sheryl Sage, director, Alliance Programs, VMware.
The VMware Ready program is a co-branding benefit of the Technology Alliance Partner (TAP) program that makes it easy for customers to identify partner products certified to work with VMware cloud infrastructures. Customers can use these products and solutions to lower project risks and realize cost savings over custom built solutions. With thousands of members worldwide, the VMware TAP program includes best-of-breed technology partners with the shared commitment to bring the best expertise and business solution for each unique customer need.
The GreenBytes IO Offload Engine can be found within the online VMware Solution Exchange (VSX).
GreenBytes will be a featured exhibitor at the VMware Partner Exchange (Booth 808), February 25-27, 2013, in Las Vegas. Additional information about GreenBytes' IO Offload Engine, including detailed reference architecture, is available at the GreenBytes website.
