Bit9, the leader in Trust-based Security, announces the appointment of Ed Filippine as vice president of worldwide sales, reporting to CEO Patrick Morley. Filippine, who has more than 15 years’ of sales leadership experience with leading IT hardware, software and services organizations, is responsible for Bit9’s global sales and channel business.

He has tremendous experience developing and leading sales organizations at high-growth companies,” said Morley. “He and his team will play a vital role in helping Bit9 achieve our revenue goals and bring the benefits of trust-based security to more enterprises worldwide.”
Prior to joining Bit9, Filippine was vice president of worldwide sales for HP Vertica. Before that he served as general manager of the Americas for Acronis, responsible for leading the company’s strategy and business across North and South America and overseeing sales, channels, marketing and pre-sales engineering functions for the region.

He also held executive sales positions at WorldCom and American Network Exchange. Filippine earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from St. Louis University.
