Henry County Health Center's Healthy Living Mobile App Built on the MobileSmith Platform Wins Bronze at the 2013 Web Health Awards

HCHC's award-winning Healthy Living app was built for both iPhone and Android without writing a line of code, using the MobileSmith mobile app development platform

RALEIGH, N.C., Dec. 9, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- MobileSmith is excited to announce that the Healthy Living mobile app built and released by its customer Henry County Health Center (HCHC) has won a prestigious Bronze award at the 2013 Summer/Fall Web Health Awards. The Healthy Living app was built for both iPhone and Android without writing a line of code, using the MobileSmith app development platform.

"HCHC has received two Gold awards for our intranet and a Bronze award for our mobile website. This mobile app that we built on the MobileSmith platform is, by far, more impressive than our mobile siteso much so that I believe it is worthy of recognition. I'm excited to share both our mobile app as well as our story with others," said Stacy Speidel, IT Systems Administrator at HCHC.

This is the first mobile app ever created by HCHC. Entering into the app development process, HCHC wanted to create a customized mobile app that would both reinforce their hospital brand and encourage healthier living among their patient community. The Healthy Living app was the result of a collaborative effort between Speidel, Elise Klopfenstein, Dietitian, and Lindsay Remick, the Community Health Wellness Coordinator, in consultation with the MobileSmith team.

"MobileSmith is delighted to partner with HCHC in the creation of their first mobile app, and to see it garner such great success," said Robert Hancock, Vice President of Sales at MobileSmith. "This is an exciting time for healthcare professionals to engage their target audiences via mobile devices; and the MobileSmith platform allows them to quickly prototype and produces an impressive portfolio of custom, native mobile apps."

The Healthy Living mobile app is available on both Apple and Android smartphones and includes the following features:

- Eat Well - Connect with the HCHC Dietitian. Track your food mood. Learn about cooking classes and healthy eating resources in Henry County and Southeast Iowa. Find healthy recipes.
