BizCloud Retains Pasky IP as Lead Counsel in Trademark Infringement Case Against CSC

SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 06/06/14 -- BizCloud, Inc., a cloud computing and infrastructure provider, announced today that it has retained Pasky IP Law LLC, a prominent intellectual property law firm, to represent the company in its trademark infringement case against Computer Science Corporation (CSC), AT&T Inc., Cisco Systems Inc., VMware Inc., and EMC. Jonathan Pasky and Travis Stegemoller of Pasky IP are joining with BizCloud's local legal team led by attorney Inder Comar of Comar Law, to represent BizCloud in the suit alleging infringement of the BizCloud® trademark.

"We are very pleased that Pasky IP joined our litigation team in our trademark infringement suit against CSC and its partners," said Mr. Vahid Razavi, Founder and CEO of BizCloud. "In addition to being skilled trial lawyers, the firm has extensive industry experience working with both technology startups and established corporations to help them protect and enforce their intellectual property assets," Mr. Razavi said.

"BizCloud will vigorously to protect its brand and registered trademark from what it sees as continued infringing use by CSC," said Jonathan Pasky, Principal & CEO at Pasky IP.

Pasky is an intellectual property litigator with extensive technical knowledge and legal expertise across the full spectrum of IP law. In addition to his practice, Mr. Pasky is also the co-founder of DevNetwork and Techweek, Inc., leading technology media companies. Local counsel Inder Comar is Legal Director and IP attorney at Comar Law. Comar Law specializes in cutting edge legal areas with a focus on intellectual property, internet and civil and human rights cases.

In January 2014, BizCloud filed a formal suit against CSC and its partner companies AT&T Inc., Cisco Systems Inc., VMware Inc., and EMC, alleging that defendants have utilized and continue to utilize the "BizCloud" brand on its products and services, directly infringing upon BizCloud's registered BizCloud® trademark. The lawsuit further alleges that CSC's use of the "BizCloud" brand has caused confusion among consumers as to the identity and origin of BizCloud's goods, damaging BizCloud's business.

In the complaint, filed on January 10, 2014, in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, BizCloud is seeking unspecified monetary damages from CSC as well as a permanent injunction to restrain the defendants from using the "BizCloud" brand and trademarks. The complaint also seeks an award of damages and attorneys' fees.

Machine learning has taken residence at our cities' cores and now we can finally have "smart cities." Cities are a collection of buildings made to provide the structure and safety necessary for people to function, create and survive. Buildings are a pool of ever-changing performance data from large automated systems such as heating and cooling to the people that live and work within them. Through machine learning, buildings can optimize performance, reduce costs, and improve occupant comfort by ...
The explosion of new web/cloud/IoT-based applications and the data they generate are transforming our world right before our eyes. In this rush to adopt these new technologies, organizations are often ignoring fundamental questions concerning who owns the data and failing to ask for permission to conduct invasive surveillance of their customers. Organizations that are not transparent about how their systems gather data telemetry without offering shared data ownership risk product rejection, regu...

Enterprises have taken advantage of IoT to achieve important revenue and cost advantages. What is less apparent is how incumbent enterprises operating at scale have, following success with IoT, built analytic, operations management and software development capabilities - ranging from autonomous vehicles to manageable robotics installations. They have embraced these capabilities as if they were Silicon Valley startups.
As IoT continues to increase momentum, so does the associated risk. Secure Device Lifecycle Management (DLM) is ranked as one of the most important technology areas of IoT. Driving this trend is the realization that secure support for IoT devices provides companies the ability to deliver high-quality, reliable, secure offerings faster, create new revenue streams, and reduce support costs, all while building a competitive advantage in their markets.
