Teradata 2014 PARTNERS Conference Expands to Reach Data-Driven Business Professionals Worldwide

Annual event marks the epicenter of a mega billion-dollar marketplace

NASHVILLE, Tenn., Aug. 4, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Teradata Corp. (NYSE: TDC), the analytic data platforms, marketing applications and services company, is expanding the Teradata 2014 PARTNERS Conference and Expo set for October 19-23 at the Gaylord Opryland Convention Center in Nashville, Tennessee. The PARTNERS conference is the largest gathering of its kind in North America. The scope of the event is expanding in 2014 to include data professionals in every role. Over 200 sessions will feature trendsetting practices in delivering business value through big data analytics, marketing applications, and data science. Teradata will also make news headlines during the event, announcing new products, showcasing insights and webcasting continuously from a virtual News Desk.

The Teradata conference marks the epicenter of what experts have declared is a hot marketplace. According to a recent Forbes roundup of big data trends, A.T. Kearney forecasts global spending on big data hardware, software and services will grow at a compound annual growth rate of 30 percent through 2018, reaching a total market value of $114 billion. Analytics and marketing applications are also growing into billion-dollar business fields, where top IT analysts have positioned Teradata as a leader, making PARTNERS the place to be for insight into these trending, newsworthy markets. 

This year Teradata is offering a Virtual Conference package, which extends the event to a broader global audience using digital and 3D technology for social interaction. The virtual event will run Monday through Wednesday and offer attendees live streaming sessions, accessible from computer, tablet, or smart phone. Participants on site and on line can watch select sessions and use the network to chat, participate in Q&A sessions, view demos and more. "We'll also have a Virtual News Desk," said Chow. The Teradata conference mission, Chow said, is to discover and communicate how the power of data can be applied to business, improve lives, and advance global society as a whole. One of the hallmarks of the PARTNERS conference is the customer presentations. This year's line up includes data professionals from global organizations including eBay, Netflix, AT&T, the American Cancer Society, RBC, Lloyd's Banking Group, DELTA Airlines, Sirius XM Radio and more of the biggest global names in retail, telecommunications, entertainment, finance, healthcare and manufacturing.

The Monday keynote is Dr. Peter Diamandis, Chairman and CEO of XPRIZE, and co-founder of the Singularity University along with Dr. Ray Kurzweil. Diamandis will cover the rapid growth of key exponential technologies that empower individuals and companies -- including artificial intelligence, robotics, biotechnology, synthetic biology, embedded networks, nanotechnology, materials and human machine interfaces.
