Enterra Solutions Partners with SAP to Deliver Cognitive Computing, Big-Data Analytics and Insights to Iconic Brands

Enterra Solutions®, LLC, a leading big data analytics and insights firm, announced today it has signed a global original equipment manufacturer (OEM) agreement with SAP (NYSE: SAP). Through the agreement, Enterra will develop next-generation cognitive computing solutions using the SAP HANA® platform. Enterra also plans to develop and market new, advanced analytics and insights product and service offerings that will run on SAP HANA, to be marketed initially in the consumer products, retail, entertainment and life-sciences industries.

As more businesses turn to big-data insights for competitive advantages, Enterra plans to make these solutions available to enhance the competitiveness and valuations of iconic brands, many of which now view actionable big-data insights as the disruptive competitive advantage that will drive future business objectives.

By combining the power of Enterra’s Cognitive Reasoning Platform™ (CRP) with the speed and agility that SAP HANA delivers for the management of structured and unstructured data in real-time integration environments, Enterra will make rich analytics and insights available to enterprises and governmental agencies that seek to harness big-data insights to grow their businesses.

Enterra’s Cognitive Reasoning Platform helps solve problems in a way similar to how a human would. Enterra’s technology does this by integrating symbolic logic and semantic reasoning with the automated ability to intelligently allocate statistical and mathematical optimization techniques to the most appropriate calculation engine, and it uses natural language processing to simplify the engagement with human end users. Leveraging existing mathematical solvers of clients wherever possible, and accessing in-place data warehouses, the Enterra CRP can scale and accelerate implementation times. These capabilities allow the Enterra CRP to auto-discover non-obvious statistical relationships and insights at computer speeds while providing access to those insights for decision making.

“Companies are ready for new forms of analytics,” said Stephen DeAngelis, CEO of Enterra. “Businesses need to operate at a new cadence using new forms of data. We believe that through this new partnership with SAP and the integration of SAP HANA into our platform, we can extend our lead in cognitive computing for companies across industry sectors. We anticipate that this will allow iconic brands to leverage data present at every level of their enterprise into actionable insights for decision-making. Today, it is not enough to answer the questions that you know to ask. We believe that it is also important to answer the questions that you do not know to ask before they become mission-critical.”

“SAP welcomes Enterra Solutions as a new OEM partner,” said Greg McStravick, general manager and global head, Database and Technology, SAP. “By combining the power of SAP HANA with Enterra’s Cognitive Reasoning Platform and big-data analytics and insights solutions, we believe organizations can more easily transform data into meaningful opportunities. We anticipate the integration will help automate processes, allowing customers to find insights that would not have been possible to uncover simply and easily through classical computing techniques.”

SAP HANA combines database, data processing, and application platform capabilities in-memory. The platform provides libraries for predictive, planning, text processing, spatial and business analytics. By providing advanced capabilities, such as predictive text analytics, spatial processing and data virtualization on the same architecture, it further simplifies application development and processing across big-data sources and structures. This makes SAP HANA a highly suitable platform for building and deploying next-generation, real-time applications and analytics.
