Dimension Data implementa servicios gestionados estandarizados para centros de datos

Dimension Data, el proveedor de soluciones y servicios informáticos y de comunicaciones a nivel mundial con una facturación de 6 mil millones de USD, anunció hoy que implementará servicios gestionados estandarizados a nivel mundial para centros de datos. Diseñada a partir de la tecnología de vanguardia que ofrece la Plataforma de Servicios Gestionados del grupo, el porfolio administra servidores, soluciones de almacenamiento y redes para centros de datos físicos, en la nube o híbridos.

A principios de este año, Dimension Data anunció que cuadruplicaría el tamaño de su negocio de centros de datos hasta los 4 mil millones de dólares para el 2018. El lanzamiento de esta suite de servicios gestionados es el siguiente paso en una serie de iniciativas estratégicas para ampliar la capacidad del grupo y, de ese modo, estar en condiciones de responder con solvencia a las necesidades de transformación de los centros de datos de los clientes nacionales y multinacionales.

Steve Joubert, ejecutivo del grupo para Centros de Datos de Dimension Data, señaló: "En la actualidad, vemos que los clientes tienden a dejar de poseer y administrar su propio centro de datos y prefieren externalizar toda la infraestructura, o la gestión del entorno". Incluso con el advenimiento de la informática en la nube, Technology Business Research Inc.* informó recientemente que el 70 % de los que adoptan una nube privada utilizará terceros para gestionar sus entornos.
