Jones Plastic & Engineering Breaks the Mold with Enhanced Remote Access to Business-Critical Epicor ERP System Using Ericom AccessNow

AccessNow Provides Fast and Reliable Browser-Based Access from Mixed Windows & Mac Desktops, iPads, iPhones and Android Devices

CLOSTER, N.J., Sept. 23, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Ericom Software, a global leader in application access and desktop virtualization solutions, today announced that Jones Plastic & Engineering, a world leader in injection molders for the appliance and automotive industries, has selected Ericom AccessNow to provide 1,700 employees with remote access to its Epicor ERP system.

With six facilities located across the US and Mexico, Epicor ERP supports many aspects of Jones Plastic & Engineering's operations, including inventory, accounting, and sales. Citing performance, reliability and printing issues with their existing remote access software from 2X, the company opted to switch to AccessNow.

According to Trent Bashore, IT Manager at Jones Plastic & Engineering, the company's goal to replace 2X was two-fold: find a product that supports access to the Epicor ERP system and solve a critical printing problem.

"Ericom AccessNow addressed both issues," explained Bashore. "It provides a really fast and reliable solution that gives our users complete control of remote printing, eliminating the risk that sensitive information will be sent to the wrong printer." Mr. Bashore added, "Plus the fact that AccessNow works on diverse devices and operating systems makes it easy for everyone, including our GM, shop floor personnel and business unit managers, to access our ERP system."

Joshua Behar, Ericom Software's President, commented, "Jones Plastic & Engineering is a great example of how AccessNow can be leveraged to extend ERP systems running on old or mixed Windows Server versions, across an array of endpoints, including Windows, Mac and mobile devices. As a browser-based solution, AccessNow provides flexibility and control enabling users to be productive wherever they are."

Integrating HTML5 technology, AccessNow can be used across all popular Web browsers, including Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer and Safari, further extending the reach of Jones Plastics & Engineering's ERP system to popular mobile devices such as iPads and Android smartphones.

Key Benefits of Ericom's Browser-Based Access Solution include:

  • Allows staff access to Epicor ERP system at any time from any device and location
  • Simple, localized printing options keep business documents secure
  • Zero endpoint installation simplifies IT and Helpdesk workload
  • Adds flexibility by giving staff access to desktops and applications through mobile devices
  • Simplifies licensing; one license server can be shared across multiple servers and locations
  • Supports mixed farm environments containing Windows Server 2003, 2008, 2008 R2, 2012 and 2012 R2
