Sun Changing its Ticker Symbol Looks Kinda Limp

Seems to the causal observer that it might have done that a few years ago when Java was hotter

Sun couldn't hold on to the uptick in its stock that it got when it posted fairly reasonable Q4 numbers the end of last month and the optimists were thinking turnaround.

And its announcement last week that IBM of all people is going to resell Solaris didn't boost its price back over five bucks so, to try to change its karma, Sun is going to change its ticker symbol to Java.

Seems to the causal observer that it might have done that a few years ago when Java was hotter. Now it just looks kinda limp but Sun insists that a billion people worldwide recognize the cup and steam that make up Java's logo.

The change went into effect Monday August 27.
