Three Partners Recognized for Outstanding Sales Performance, Commitment to Developing Availability Expertise and Quality Support

Marathon Technologies announced that has named 4D Security Systems ,Ageris and Providence Solutions as its 2007 Global Partners of the Year. The partners were recognized for their exceptional sales performance, commitment to developing availability expertise, and continuous quality and support throughout Marathon's global reseller and customer base. These distinguished resellers were selected from more than 190 Marathon partners worldwide.

"We are proud to recognize 4D Security Solutions, Ageris and Providence Solutions for their ongoing commitment in identifying and capitalizing on sales opportunities for our everRun fault-tolerant, high availability product line," said Gary Phillips, president and CEO of Marathon Technologies. "Our growth in the United States, Europe and Asia is a direct result of our top partners' dedication to providing customers and resellers with consistently high levels of expertise and support. We look forward to a successful 2008 as our reseller channel continues to expand."

In the United States, 4D Security Solutions, a systems integrator providing end-to-end, turnkey solutions for the defense and homeland security markets, has played a significant role in expanding Marathon's rapidly growing customer base in the federal market. The combination of Marathon's everRun line of high availability solutions and 4D's Armor Multi-sensor fusion software ensures that its detection systems for airports, seaports, chemical plants and oil facilities will have the highest possible levels of availability. As a result, federal institutions within the public safety and homeland security sectors have integrated the everRun software as a key component to their Continuity of Operations (COOP) strategy.

Throughout 2007, Germany-based Ageris, an independent distributor for IT Infrastructure solutions, has played an integral part in expanding Marathon's customer base in Europe by recruiting and training additional channel resellers in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Eastern Europe. Ageris' value-add approach to the channel, both in terms of recruiting and enabling partners, has resulted in major Marathon customer wins in the region's financial services, healthcare and manufacturing sectors. Ageris customers, such as MAN AG, one of Europe's leading vehicle manufacturers, are using Marathon's everRun software to protect mission critical applications and data from faults, failures and disasters.

In the Asia-Pacific market, Singapore-based Providence Solutions, an Asia-wide enterprise IT solutions distributor, has expanded Marathon's sales revenue and geographic coverage by recruiting new resellers across the region including Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Korea and India. Providence Solutions' success in growing Marathon's business in the Asia-Pacific region can be attributed to the distributor's unique focus and expertise in high availability and disaster recovery solutions.

Marathon's everRun line of fault-tolerant software products protects Microsoft Windows applications from downtime while eliminating the need for costly and complex failover processes, specialized applications, or proprietary server hardware. Turnkey, automation, and simplicity are the cornerstones of the everRun line, which uses embedded intelligent policy management to prevent application downtime. The primary benefit to the end user is that they are protecting their business by ensuring continuity of operations -- simply, at low cost and with complete confidence.

When talking IoT we often focus on the devices, the sensors, the hardware itself. The new smart appliances, the new smart or self-driving cars (which are amalgamations of many ‘things'). When we are looking at the world of IoT, we should take a step back, look at the big picture. What value are these devices providing. IoT is not about the devices, its about the data consumed and generated. The devices are tools, mechanisms, conduits. This paper discusses the considerations when dealing with the...
