Keynote Systems has announced it will open its cloud infrastructure, offering any Web team concerned with their end users' experience free access to KITE (Keynote Interactive Testing Environment), Keynote's product for testing and analyzing the performance of Web applications across the Internet cloud. Thus, KITE becomes the gateway into Keynote's global test & measurement infrastructure.
"Cloud computing is opening new doors for Web developers, who can now focus on building an application and rely on other companies to handle the intricacies of deploying testing software or managing the underlying infrastructure that hosts their application," said Vik Chaudhary, vice president of product management and corporate development at Keynote.
While new Internet computing models and IT infrastructure have accelerated the pace, reach and agility of Web businesses, they have also introduced an complexity driven by the growing number of applications, lack of interoperability standards and huge amount of proprietary code. Developing new applications or adding features and functionality that work well with the existing infrastructure, as well as identifying the core of problems once released into production, has become an operational nightmare. KITE enables Web teams to keep up with rapid development cycles, offering real-time performance testing and analysis of complex Web 2.0 applications for immediate performance feedback. The solution helps identify the root cause of performance issues instantly, reducing costly mistakes in production.
