WebLayers has announced the appointment of Jeff Papows as president and CEO. With more than 25 years of industry experience, Papows has experience in both emerging companies and global organizations. Most notably, Jeff was president and CEO of Lotus Development Corporation. Upon the acquisition of Lotus, Jeff helped steer the company's successful integration into IBM. Jeff was also president of Cognos Corporation, taking the business intelligence software provider from its early stages to sustained profitability, a successful public offering and years of continued growth that met or exceeded market expectations. Most recently, Jeff was the president and CEO of Maptuit, a provider of real-time commercial navigation software. Papows will continue to play an active role in the company as Chairman of the Board.
The company has also announced that it has secured $3 million in a new equity round of funding from Ascent Venture Partners, Cedar Fund and Veritas Venture Partners with a contingency for additional funds if required.
