Netuitive released the newest edition of its Netuitive SI product. This version includes new features giving customers 'total environment monitoring' for virtual infrastructures and builds on the product's ability to help customers automatically monitor and analyze any application, within any environment, from a single user console. As part of this release the company integrated its virtualization monitoring solution into the core Netuitive SI platform.
The new version of Netuitive SI is a direct result of customer feedback and demand for new virtualization monitoring capabilities around the datastore, clusters, resource pools, virtual machines and hosted applications as a 'total environment' from a single console.
"Even though the state of the art continues to progress for advanced monitoring solutions, we are still seeing IT teams trying to stretch traditional, silo monitoring approaches for their virtualized environments. Most silo tools do not deliver the adaptive, preventative features required to meet today's demand for proactively assuring IT services, and by definition they cannot span technologies to deliver the aggregate viewpoint required for supporting complex virtualized infrastructures," said Jim Frey, research director, Enterprise Management Associates. "Advanced, holistic monitoring solutions, such as this latest release of Netuitive SI, represent the answer by delivering cross-domain operational intelligence."
Netuitive SI is a self-learning solution that monitors the entire virtual infrastructure, allowing customers to drill down to root-causes from the cluster, to the host server, to the VM, and on through the application without requiring any manual configuration of scripts, rules, or thresholds.
Netuitive SI also allows customers to leverage monitoring metrics from leading tools such as Microsoft Operations Manager, HP Operations, IBM Tivoli, BMC Patrol, and NetIQ AppManager.
'Next Generation' Netuitive SI Key features include:
- Expanded virtualization monitoring capabilities via a brand new set of monitoring metrics for the resource pool and data store.
- New support for clusters
- Total Health Index representing the correlated performance of the overall virtual infrastructure, including resource pool, clusters, hosts and VMs.
- 'Three click' drill down capability: Drill-down from the cluster to host to VM to application; automates and streamlines business administrative tasks; increases scalability.
